Pulmonary Function Testing

Singing River Health System offers comprehensive Pulmonary Function Testing in Singing River Hospital, Ocean Springs Hospital and in the Pulmonary Clinic.

Our team includes Certified Pulmonary Function Technologists (CPFT) and a Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist to help provide diagnostic tests for various lung diseases including asthma, bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and emphysema.

Our Pulmonary Function Testing Labs also offer Cardio-Pulmonary Exercise Testing(CPET) a unique state of the art comprehensive evaluation for the cardiac and respiratory physiology to help with diagnosis of causes of dyspnea and for preoperative evluation prior to cardiothoracic surgery. These test are directly supervised by one of our staff pulmonologist to assure safety and quality.

Singing River Health System Pulmonary Function Test Labs are registered by the American Thoracic Society (ATS) - the largest pulmonary organization in North America. The ATS has a strong background in writing standards and establishing networks at the state and national levels. Our registration with the ATS registry allows us to maintain quality standards in each of our labs.

We maintain our quality standards by training our core group of therapists who are highly qualified and who also demonstrate a high level of understanding of ATS guidelines. We provide our care in a friendly environment, and we help patient to understand the basis of their disease process in collaboration of pulmonary physicians. We continue to strive for quality by reviewing all aspects of PFT testing on an ongoing basis and providing continuous education to all therapists.
