Who Is Eligible?

Have you been diagnosed with a terminal illness?

Have you discontinued curative care?

Are you receiving only palliative (symptom control ) care?

If you answer yes to all of the above, you may be eligibile for hospice services.

Hospice of Light offers services to patients who have a terminal illness with a limited life expectancy, as diagnosed by the patient’s physician. The goal of hospice care is pain management and symptom control.

Hospice patients do not have to be homebound. Patients must be aware of their condition and reside within Hospice of Light’s service areas:

• Jackson
• Perry
• Harrison
• Greene
• George
• Stone

Who Pays for Hospice?

The Hospice Medicare Benefit provides financial coverage for those patients who are eligible. Hospice is also covered by Medicaid and many private insurance companies.
