Epic is a state-of-the-art clinical information system. The corporation is private, employee-owned and all applications are developed, installed and supported by their in-house employees. The SRHS goal for implementing Epic is to transform the care experience for patients, physicians and staff.  After significant planning and preparation, go-live is scheduled to take place on July 1, 2012, with what is defined as a Big-Bang go-live to encompass all aspects of the hospital’s clinical applications, financial applications, hospital outpatient departments and a few physician offices.

With Epic, information is shared outside of SRHS securely in two ways:

• Care Everywhere, where the doctor controls the flow of data across organizations
• Lucy PHR, where patients control their own health information.

The system encompasses all aspects of a patient’s care - clinical and business-related and connects those involved in the patient’s care with a click of a computer mouse.  Epic’s on-time, on-budget track record is one of the best in healthcare, as rated by independent reviewers.  Epic has been named the #1 Overall Software Vendor for 2010 by KLAS* and consistently earn high ratings for customer satisfaction, response times and promises kept.
