The Wound Care CenterA Scientific Approach to Excellence in Wound Care The Singing River Health System Wound Care Center offers specialized equipment and a highly trained staff for the management of problem wounds. Physicians, nurses, physical therapists and hyperbaric technologists coordinate with primary physicians to provide a comprehensive range of services that meet the total needs of the patient. We consider psychological and social factors as well as physical and develop a treatment plan in cooperation with your primary care physician. Our primary emphasis is on teaching the patient how to manage the wound and how to prevent future problems. We know how to recognize and treat contributing factors like poor nutrition, which can hamper healing. Treatment options for different types of hard to heal wounds can range from doctor prescribed medicated dressings to the latest in high-tech hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
