If you or a loved one is facing a cancer diagnosis, the The Regional Cancer Center team at Singing River Health System has the technology, expertise and compassion to guide you through every step of your journey.
With four medical and radiation oncologists leading the charge, our hospital-based center offers a comprehensive and integrated approach to cancer care.

Our technology is second to none. We offer diagnostic imaging such as digital mammography and breast MRI, as well as PET/CT for detecting and staging cancer. We were the first center on the Mississippi Gulf Coast to offer Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy and now offer the industry’s leading edge radiation treatment, Image-Guided Radiation Therapy, which can target cancers as small as the head of a pin without damaging healthy tissue surrounding the cancer.

Our oncology team has access to a clinical laboratory, as well as Telesynergy®, a videoconferencing system which allows our physicians to consult with cancer specialists throughout the U.S. regarding patients they are treating right here on the Gulf Coast. This system offers our patients access to leading cancer specialists around the nation without ever having to leave home for treatment.

In addition, the Regional Cancer Center is participating in The Cancer Disparities Research Partnership (CDRP) through a research grant from the National Cancer Institute. Specifically, this grant enables our team to offer:

• designated staff to serve as patient navigators to help guide each patient in his or her battle against cancer;
• an outreach educator to work not only with cancer patients seeking treatment at our center, but also offering community programs to raise cancer awareness and prevention;
• access for patients to participate in clinical trials.

In 2007, the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer reaccredited The Regional Cancer at Singing River Health System. We are now one of only 13 programs in Mississippi to earn this designation.

We are particularly proud of this distinction because it means that our team and our center have met the rigorous standards of the Commission on Cancer. But more importantly, it means that we offer an exemplary, multifaceted cancer program that allows Gulf Coast residents to remain close to home and their loved ones if they ever find themselves waging a battle against cancer.
